The range of actionThe Centre Arrupe pour la Recherche et la Formation, CARF en sigle, operates throughout the Democratic Republic of the Congo, mainly in Katanga Province. It can expand its activities in Africa, and around the world in conjunction with other partner organizations.

The vision of CARF, is the one found in the Apostolic Project of the Jesuit Fathers of the Province of Central Africa. The vision is to promote a Christian vision of economic, socio-political and cultural development, especially in the circles of thought and social action in Lubumbashi, Katanga, in particular and in DR Congo in general. The characteristic of the Jesuit vision is nothing less than the preferential option for the poor.

The mission of CARFby 2034, « a reference in strategic reflection, research and innovative actions for the solidarity and sustainable development of the Congolese people ». The three-year strategic action plan 2015-2017 focuses on innovation in research and training in good financial governance, democracy, economic and social rights, education, leadership, with a preferential option for the poor, characteristic of the mission of the Jesuit Fathers around the world.
