CARF NewsLine
Monthly bulletin « CARF NewsLine » will now serve as the Centre's expression body in order not only to ensure the promotion and visibility of the work but also to provide news from the institution to our readers and partners on current activities.
Num. 1
The month of September 2024 on which this first issue bears, will have been quite special to CARF in that it has experienced quite a lot of events rich in color. The opening of the very first novel by Christian Mukadi, a young Jesuit priest recently ordained in Lubumbashi and residing in Japan, will have contributed to the evolution of the CARF mission as a research centre. The same is true of the conference hosted at CARF by Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, Archbishop of Luxembourg on the theme of « Synodality ».
Num. 2
The month of October is quite particular in that it announces without really saying the end of the year. Almost. For us in the province of Haut-Katanga, he is already foretelling a new planting season. But as we know, barely a little rain came to water the earth on October 12. Everyone complains about the hot heat we hadn't known before. The experience of global warming is no longer an important fiction or discourse. It has become our reality every day.
Num. 3
Have we lived up to the grace of God?
Without effort, we feel it everywhere, that it is the time of evaluation in the institutions at the rate of the calendar year. This assessment disguises itself as an annual financial report for some, and an examination of conscience for others in order to see the quality of our cooperation with the grace given by the Lord.
